Pilgrim to Extraterrestrial:Mourning Spot or Tourist Attraction?
|
Should the Nepal Government prohibit spreading lenses around the Holy Aryaghat during the funeral rites? Is it right or wrong? Many tourists around the holy Aryaghat are fond of taking photos of dead bodies kept at the Bramhanal (the place where the dead body is kept for drowning the feet into the water of the holy Bagmati River) and around the Aryaghat where the dead bodies are kept on the Chitah (the place where the dead body is kept for burning with the wood). The pilgrims and tourists are fond of taking photos of the funeral and final burning of the dead bodies. In Hindu culture, the dead body is kept on a wood-pyre and is burnt. It takes around 5-6 hours for complete burning of a dead body. Many pilgrims witness the mourning funeral and heart-breaking burning of the dead bodies. A serious public question is that is it good to take photos of such pathetic mourning.
A procession has been made to Pashupati Aryaghat. Someone’s grief is made a joke here. The government of Nepal has failed and so now we are coming to do it. “New ruler”
