Internationally the Day of Vesak 2019:On the Day of Vesak in 623 B.C. Buddha was born. Day of Vesak is known as the day of full moon in May. Buddha also reached enlightenment, and passed away after eighty years on the Day of Vesak. The General Assembly has recognized this day and Buddha’s contributions since 1999. This year, they celebrated by organizing an assembly on May 17th (Day of Vesak) in the United Nation’s headquarters.
