Mass media training concluded in Urlabari

A week long basic Mass Media Training programme is concluded here in Urlabari, a town of Morang district, December 11th Tuesday. The training was organized by Sanchar Club Nepal and financially supported by Urlabari Municipality. There were a total of 28 local trainees between the ages of 17 to 50.

Fundamentally, the trainees were from the students of colleges, local journalists, business men/women, social workers and retired police personals.

Urlabari municipality ward number 7 chairman Birbal Thapa stated that everybody should learn journalism because it is the demand of time.

Mayor Khadga Phago of Urlabari Municipality and the chief trainer Lila Raj Khatiwada jointly handed over the certificates to the trainees.

Giving a brief speech in the award distribution ceremony, Mayor Phago called the journalists to explore Urlabari and its every efforts of development transformation.

He also stressed to bring Urlabari in national and international Medias. Mayor Phago further suggests the journalists for being conscious and informative regarding the political activities including state affairs. Observing the enthusiasm of the trainees Mayor assured that advanced level training will be organized in Urlabari in near future. 

Addressing closing ceremony, the chief trainer Lila Raj Khatiwada told that the local Medias should focus on local issues which need national attention. Feature writing and interviews with the local celebrities of different sectors will highlight Urlabari and adjoining areas, he said. If we discover the chaste truths of local areas, which would be potential plots to dig out various mystery not brought in any means of media and mass communication. For which many international journalists look crazy. To attract well established media, I think it is a primary task of local journalists, he summarized his views.

The contents of the training were reporting, news/feature and creative writing, interviewing, traveling and exploring the hidden stories of nature and communities, right operation of social media, photography, creative advertisements and career development.
The award distribution programe was facilitated by Local journalist Ghanashyam Bhandari and chaired by Saroj Basnet, president of the Sanchar Club Nepal, Urlabari.
